The Newton Knights of Columbus will host the annual Tootsie Roll Drive Oct. 19 and 20 at Wal-Mart, North Dillon’s and South Dillon’s.
The drive raises money to benefit local organizations that serve the community’s intellectually disabled residents. The Knights of Columbus will accept free will donations. Look for men wearing bright yellow and red aprons at the entrance of Wal-Mart and Dillon’s stores.
“The Newton Knights of Columbus would like to thank the Newton Community for its past generosity and look forward to your continued support,” said John Florez, Tootsie Roll chairman for the Knights of Columbus.
Recipients of this year’s drive will be the Harvey/Marion County Special Olympics team (The Wildcats), the Circle of Friends by Harvey County Special Education and Trinity Heights Respite Care. Donations may also be sent to Tootsie Roll chairman John Florez, 401 SW 6th, Newton, KS, 67114. Checks should be payable to “K of C 976.”
