March 24, 1930 September 17, 2022 Hershberger, Lola Mae, 92, was called home to our Lord on September 17, 2022. Lola Mae was born in Salina, KS, to Hannah Sophia Bloomberg Davis and Roy Davis.
She was the youngest of three children; siblings were Roy Davis, and Ruth Elaine Davis Sisler. Her father was a wheat farmer close to Salina during her growing years. She attended Kipp Rural High School. During her year at Kansas State University she met Lloyd Eldon Hershberger. They married Sept 11,1949 and were married for 62 years. They moved to Wichita, KS in 1963, where they raised five children: Steven, Laleen, Melody, Brad, Vanessa; all received their college degree. She was a homemaker while she raised her family. She became employed with USD#259 in 1978 as an Instructional Paraprofessional in the Special Education Dept in the Middle School level for 18 years. She was always active in the Lutheran Church,PTA, Boy and Girl Scouts, and Bible studies.
Lola Mae and Lloyd were extremely active in the Kansas Christian Ashram for 40 years, and attended 3 International Christian Ashrams: NovaScotia, Sweden, India. She retired in 1992, then they enjoyed traveling, square dancing, Tuesday breakfast group, the Shepherd Center for Adventures in Learning, and playing Rummikub. Her family always came first and her many, many friends meant a great deal to her. Lola Mae enjoyed a full life!
