Summer meal program launched

Newton USD 373 recently announced a free summer meal program for children.

Children 18 and under can received a free breakfast and lunch Mondays through Fridays at two locations in Newton.

At Sunset Elementary, 619 Boyd, breakfast will be served from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At Newton High School, 900 W. 12th Street, breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Please enter through main front doors.

Free mobile meals will be offered at four locations this summer:

Athletic Park (5th and Park Place – Shelter area): 11:30 a.m. to noon.

Roosevelt Park (701 E. Broadway) 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.

Spring Lake Splash Park (110 Springlake Drive): 11:30 a.m. to noon.

Quail Creek Park (500 S. Quail Ct) 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.

The meals will be served through July 26, with no meals served on July 4.

All meals must be consumed on-site.
