April 27 members of the Newton Police Department and Newton Fire/EMS Department assisted with the installation of a wheelchair ramp constructed by the Newton High School Construction Class for student Cadence Santana who was struck by a vehicle while walking to school. She will be in a wheelchair when she returns home from the hospital, as early as next week.
