Eva Mae Andres, 91 died December 26, 2022 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born December 13, 1931 in Buhler, Kansas to John J. and Ev a M. ( Willems) Sawatzky. On July 23, 1950 she married Harold K. Andres at Buhler Mennonite Church and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1999.

Eva Mae was a long-time active member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton. She was a loving homemaker and worked as a partner with her husband on the family farm.

Eva Mae is survived by her children: Cindy (Daryl) Unruh; Marsha (Rodney) Schmidt; Chris (Paul) Unruh; and Mark (Andrea) Andres. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Sawatzky and sister Mary Ann Johnson.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022 at First Mennonite Church in Newton with Pastor Luke Unruh presiding. Burial will precede the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to MCC or First Mennonite Church and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
