Dr. James Kipling Hahn D.D.S. (Kip), age 79, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed peacefully at The Retreat Hospice in Mobile, AL, March 5, 2023, with his son and daughter by his side.
James graduated Doctor of Dental surgery from UMKC in 1969. That same year he joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Ankara, Turkey. When he returned to Kansas he ran a successful Dental practice in Newton, KS for 22 years.
After he retired he pursued his passion for writing and held several trademarks and a patent on a tool he invented for the healthcare industry. James was a brilliant man with a great passion to change the way people thought about life and everyday things. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father and he was a beloved Papaw to his grandchildren. He was a man who loved his family.
James was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Kathy Hahn; and his parents Claire E. Hahn and Mildred Hahn.
James is survived by his children: Zachary Hahn (Jennifer Hahn) and Jessica Demaria (Peter Demaria); grandchildren: Kai Hahn, Addley Hahn and Finn Demaria.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
