Four Bethel College football players claimed All-America honors for the 2021 season. Offensive lineman Keegan Martin, a junior from Yale, Okla., was named first team All-American by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for the second year.

HAYSVILLE — The Newton High School boys’ basketball team struggled to contain the athleticism of the Campus Colts, falling 77-51 Friday in AV-CTL I play in Haysville. “Our guys had a lot of fight tonight,” Newton coach Andy Preston said.

HAYSVILLE — The Grinch came and stole the offense for the Newton High School girls’ basketball team, which fell to Campus 40-10 Friday in AV-CTL I play. Newton made just two field goals in 27 tries in the game, posting 20 turn overs.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Newton High School boys’ wrestling team went against the best in the region and some of the best in the nation, claiming four medals and a 13th-place team finish out of 54 scoring teams Friday and Saturday at the Kansas City Stampede.
Prep girls GOESSEL — Cheyenne Sawyer scored 21 points to lift the Goessel Bluebird girls to a 47-22 win over Udall Friday in non-league play. Goessel broke the game open with a 15-1 second quarter to lead 22-5 at the half.
