Threshers survive McPherson’s slow down

The McPherson College men’s basketball team achieved most of what it wanted to do Thursday in the KCAC post-season tournament quarterfinals against the Bethel Threshers. McPherson kept the pace slow and the score down, but Bethel’s Jaylon Scott’s 35 points and 10 rebounds paced the 20th-ranked (NAIA) and second-seeded Threshers to a 68-65 win.

Prep girls Central Kansas League Hillsboro 51, Halstead 31 HILLSBORO – The Halstead Dragon girls couldn’t overcome 22 percent shooting, falling to Hillsboro 51-31 Monday night in a Central Kansas League make-up game in Hillsboro. Hillsboro led 25-16 at the half and put things away with a 16-7 third quarter.
