GREAT BEND – The Newton Sluggin’ Rebels lost a pair of games to the Great Bend Bat Cats Wednesday and Thursday in Sunflower Collegiate League play in Great Bend. The Bat Cats won 4-1 Wednesday and 11-7 Thursday to remain unbeaten.

SALINA — The Newton Post 2 Knights American Legion baseball team showed a little resilience Tuesday night on the road at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina, sweeping the Salina Hawks. Newton won the first game 9-6 and the second game 10-5.
