The Newton American Legion Post 2 Knights baseball team will head into the Class A zone tournament with some momentum on its side. Newton claimed a pair of wins over the Salina Eagles Friday night at Klein-Scott Field.

LAS VEGAS — Newton High School wrestler Nick Treaster has been selected to compete for Team USA in Greco-Roman at the 2022 U17 United World Wrestling World Championships July 25 through 31 in Rome. Treaster will be wrestling at 55 kilograms (121.25 pounds).
