By Mark Schnabel Nearly all coaches love four-year seniors for the leadership they can bring to a team. While COVID has thrown the last few years into disarray, the virus has had an upside in the two largest governing bodies in college sports — the NCAA and NAIA — have allowed players in the past three seasons to have a fifth year of eligibility.
The Kansan Staff FRISCO, Texas — With the Texas League season coming down the home stretch, the Wichita Wind Surge was handed a setback, falling to the Frisco RoughRiders 4-3 in 10 innings Tuesday to open a six-game series at Riders Field. Aaron Zavala hit an RBI single for Frisco in the ninth inning to tie the game.

The Bethel College volleyball team is off to its best start in 10 years after a pair of threeset sweeps Tuesday at Thresher Gym. Bethel topped Cottey College 27-25, 25-19, 25-20; and Central Christian College 25-14, 25-20, 25-19.
