Back in early September at the Titan Classic, the Newton High School boys’ soccer team was able to score early against the Derby Panthers and hold on for a 2-0 win. Tuesday at Fischer Field, Newton waited until the final 11 minutes of play to score against the Panthers, claiming a 3-0 win in AV-CTL I play.
The Kansan Staff MAIZE – The Newton High School girls’ tennis team set a little bit of school history Monday, getting the team’s first-ever doubles title in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I play. The team of Natalie Hershberger and Giulia Introini finished 4-0 at the AV-CTL I championships at Maize South to win the title.
The Kansan Staff DERBY — The Newton High School volleyball team claimed its first sweep of the year in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I play Tuesday at Derby. Newton topped Salina South 25-18, 26-24; and Derby 25-18, 25-13.
