HESSTON – A comeback attempt for the Hesston Swathers fell short in a 28-21 loss to Wichita Collegiate Friday in Class 3A district play at Hesston. Collegiate led 21-7 at the half and 28-14 early in the fourth quarter.
ANDOVER — The Newton High School volleyball team fell in the finals of the Class 5A sub-state tournament Saturday in Andover. The Railers, seeded 10th in the 18-team substate pool, upset Topeka West 26-28, 25-17, 25-16 in the semifinals.
