HUTCHINSON — The season came to an end for the Bethel College volleyball team with a three-set loss to the University of Saint Mary Friday in the quarterfinals of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Post-Season Tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The Threshers fell 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.
Bubble bursts for Threshers For the second straight year, the Bethel College football team won a share of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference title, but was overlooked for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics playoffs. The Threshers finished the season 9-1 with a bye week in the final week of KCAC play.
McPHERSON — Jacob Fiersrt scored 31 points with 13 rebounds to lead Clarke University to a 9076 win over the Bethel College men’s basketball team Saturday at the McPherson Classic. Bethel jumped out to a 17-11 lead, but gave up a 13-0 run.
The Bethel College women’s basketball team fell to the College of the Ozarks 92-66 Saturday at Thresher Gym. Bethel trailed 16-13 after the first quarter, 39-28 at the half and 65-51 after three quarters.

HESSTON — Down by seven at the half, the Hesston College men’s basketball team used a 33-5 run to open the second half and claim a 91-62 win over the Bethel Maroon JV squad Wednesday at Yost Center. The Larks went from 29 percent shooting from the field in the first half to 61 percent in the second half.
