About the only thing the Newton High School girls’ basketball team didn’t do well in a 42-11 win over Campus Tuesday at Ravenscroft Gym was shoot the ball. Newton hit just 16 of 47 from the field and five of 13 from the free throw line.
The Newton High School boys’ basketball team need about a half to get going and never did have an answer for Campus 6-6 junior Andrell Burton’s 40 points in a 74-46 loss to the Colts Tuesday at Ravenscroft Gym. Newton was only outscored by a point in the second half.
The Bethel College women’s basketball team dropped a pair of games in KCAC play. Saturday in Hillsboro, Bethel fell to Tabor 7550.
Prep girls Halstead 37, Remington 35 HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon girls hit just one 3-point shot in the game, but that was the difference in the game in a 37-35 win over seventh-ranked (KBCA, Class 2A) Remington Tuesday in Halstead.
