Railer girls survive tough fight at Campus
HAYSVILLE — The Newton High School girls’ basketball team got a little tougher fight from the Campus Colts than the first time around. The Railers needed a 13-4 third quarter to break the game open and claim a 39-29 win Friday in AV-CTL I play in Haysville.

The Bethel College competitive cheer and dance teams hosted the Bethel Invitational Friday and Saturday at Thresher Gym. The competition featured 12 schools, including several in the NAIA top 10.

Byrd II free throws hands Artaz 100th win
STERLING — Clifford Byrd II hit four of four free throws in the final seven seconds of regulation to hand the Bethel College men’s basketball team a 76-75 win over Sterling College and hand BC coach Jayson Artaz his 100th career win. Bethel led by 10 at the half, 46-36.
