Swathers show more balance in win over Colby
HUTCHINSON — Colby’s Hunter Vaughn and Guy Tubbs combined for 37 points against the Hesston Swathers Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A state tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. Hesston’s Jake Proctor and Micah Dahlsten combined for 35 points.

Bethel flag football team falls in debut
SALINA — The Bethel College women’s flag football team got a rude welcoming to the sport with a 60-0 loss to Kansas Wesleyan in the Threshers’ debut game. Scoring and stats were not reported, but Kansas Wesleyan led 20-0 after the first quarter and 33-0 at the half.
Thresher netter top John Brown
The Bethel College tennis teams claimed a pair of wins over John Brown University at the Ward Tennis Center. The Bethel men won 7-0 and the women won 6-1.
Churchill leads Wildcats to another win at Bramlage
MANHATTAN — The Moundridge Wildcat boys’ basketball team once again made Bramlage Coliseum its home, dismantling of St. Marys 63-21 Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A state tournament.
