TULSA, Okla. — Newton High School graduate Wyatt Hendrickson became the first Air Force Academy wrestler in 20 years to earn All-America honors after a third-place finish at heavyweight at the NCAA Division I National Championships at the BOK Center in Tulsa.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Markquis Nowell never lost faith, not when Kansas State had hardly anyone left on the roster for a new coach nor when the Wildcats were picked last in the Big 12.
HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon baseball team will have a new coach and some new faces lead it in a quest to return to state. Mitch Boese will serve as head coach this season.
BRAINERD — The Remington Bronco softball team will have six starters returning to try and bolster the team’s hopes for an upper-division finish in the Heart of America League. Remington is coached by Lyn Lawler in his ninth season.
SEDGWICK — Seeking their third straight Heart of America League title, the Sedgwick Cardinal baseball team enters the season with four returning starters and four other letterwinners. Doug Mabry returns for his 15th season as the Sedgwick coach, where he is 202-63.
MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge High School baseball team will lean on four returning starters for improvement in the 2023 season. Jason Rains returns for his third season as the Wildcat head coach.
