WHITEWATER — It was a memorable senior day for the Remington High School baseball team, claiming a sweep of Canton-Galva Saturday afternoon at the Jerry Hill Memorial Ball Fields in Whitewater. The Broncos held off a late Eagle comeback to win the first game 9-5.
HESSTON — Hutchinson Trinity claimed four of the top six places Monday to win the Heart of America League Championships at the Hesston Golf Course. Trinity claimed a team score of 331, followed by Berean Academy at 376, Remington at 412, Sterling at 418, Inman at 424, Sedgwick at 439 and Marion-Centre at 447.
Newton competes Monday at regionals The Kansan Staff DERBY – The Newton High School boys’ golf team ended the regular season with a seventh- place finish Monday at the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I Championships at the Derby Golf & Country Club. Maize South won the team title at 295.
HALSTEAD — Except for a weather delay, the Halstead High School softball team didn’t stay on the field too long during a sweep of Nickerson Tuesday in CKL play at Riverside Park in Halstead. The Dragons won both games 15-0 in three innings on the 15-run rule.
SOUTH HUTCHINSON – The Moundridge Wildcat softball team fell to Hutchinson Trinity 7-4 Tuesday in HOAL play in South Hutchinson. The second game was rained out and will not be rescheduled.
