Swather baseball team falls in regional finals
HOISINGTON — It was a mixed bag for the Hesston High School baseball team in the Class 3A regionals in Hoisington. Whit Rhodes pitched a no-hitter in a 4-1 semifinal win over Ellsworth.

Swather golfers take third at 3A state
DODGE CITY — The Hesston High School golf team claimed a third-place team finish and a thirdplace individual medal Monday and Tuesday at the Class 3A state tournament at the Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City. Heritage Christian Academy won the title at 613, followed by Sabetha at 635 and Hesston at 642.

Goessel junior ties for third at 1A state golf
EMPORIA — Goessel High School junior Noah Schrag tied for third Monday and Tuesday at the Class 1A state golf championships at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. Schrag shot rounds of 82 and 77 for a 17 over par 159.
Newton golfer shoots 87 at Class 5A state
McPHERSON – Newton High School senior Grayson Ybarra shot an 87 Monday at the Class 5A state boys’ golf championships at the Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson. Ybarra missed the cut for Tuesday’s individual medal play by eight strokes.
