AUGUSTA — The Kansas Cannons scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to get by the Newton Sluggin’ Rebels 3-2 Tuesday night in Jayhawk League play in Augusta. Before the runs in the 10th inning, the Sluggin’ Rebels defense had 18 straight scoreless innings.
WICHITA — The 30th Mid-America Youth Basketball Summer Kickoff Tournament is scheduled for Friday through Sunday at various venues throughout the region. The tournament is listed at 520 teams this year from Kansas and surrounding states.
SAN ANTONIO — The Wichita Wind Surge gave up a five-run lead in a 6-5 loss to the San Antonio Missions Tuesday in Texas League play in San Antonio. Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the Missions drew two walks and a hit batter.
