DERBY — The Newton High School girls’ golf team posted one its strongest individual finishes in league play in recent school history Monday in the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I Championships at the Derby Golf & Country Club.Freshman Naomi Koontz finished second in the 35-player field, shooting a three-under par 68.Maize junior Kinslea Jones was the top medalist with a five-under par 66.

MAIZE — The Newton High School girls’ tennis team made history Monday, winning its first-ever Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I title at the Maize South tennis complex.Newton edged Maize 40-38 for the team title.
