After a 31-year hiatus the Newton Fiesta returned in 2024, and the celebration returned for 2025, Sept. 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
There are 173 days of school remaining in the Newton USD 373 20025-26 school year.
Despite needing to reschedule the annual demolition derby the Harvey County Fair wrapped up over the weekend, with a carnival; concerts; and Bulls and Barrels spread over about four days at the county fairgrounds.

Each year the Harvey County Fair hosts “Ag Fest” on the first Saturday morning of the fair.
“Three Generations,” a new exhibit featuring artists Kayann Ausherman; daughters Abby Ausherman, Betty Mathias, and Kelsi Depew; and granddaughters Etta, Ivy, and Olive Depew, will be on exhibit at Carriage Factory Art Gallery, 128 E. 6th St, through September 12.
