Try a little kindness, everyday

There is undue rudeness and thoughtlessness in every day interpersonal interaction. Friends, relatives, and strangers can act inconsiderately. More and more people are under increasing amounts of stress. Work, commuting, family, kids, errands, chores are among the many factors that can induce anxiety that causes individuals to be irritable.

What is the fallout for men?

As problem solvers, we know we need to consider all factors that create an issue- in this case- the need for an abortion. We can’t sweep under the rug the fact that KS Health Dept. reports that 7,849 abortions were performed in Kansas in 2021. This means that 7,849 zygotes were deflected from developing into unwanted embryos, then unwanted fetuses, then unwanted babies, then unwanted children tasked with making their way in a difficult world.

Time for a convention of the people, by the people and for the people

Jefferson often conceded the Declaration of Independence did not state any new ideas but those that had long circulated amongst English and Colonial thinkers. One critical idea was that all power resided in the people, and the people had rights that preceded government. Government was given certain limited powers by the people, while the people retained all their rights, and government had a duty to preserve and protect those rights while remaining within the limits of power granted. If government were derelict in that duty, the power and the rights returned to the people who were empowered to “alter or abolish” the government and establish a new one better able to protect their rights and less able to abuse its powers.

Why confused on wind?

I read about the recent County Commissioners meeting and a report from the Planning and Zoning Director about their recent meeting. A possible wind farm was discussed. I wish I had been there to hear the discussion.
