Dear Doctors: Can you please talk about why hot weather is so dangerous? We’ve had a couple of heat waves with high humidity, and my grandfather didn’t even realize he had heat exhaustion. Air conditioning isn’t common in our area, and our kids are struggling, too. Honestly, it’s been a bit scary.
Kansas elections have been proven accurate once again. Recounts of the state’s anti-abortion amendment vote, as well as the treasurer’s race, reaffirmed the original results.
About voter fraud There appeared a news article in the August 18, 2022 Newton Kansan, about vote recounts in the August 2 primary. It was mostly actual news, but in the continuation on page A6 the following paragraph was included.
In early August, a Nebraska prosecutor charged a mother and daughter with violating the state’s ban on abortion after 20 weeks. That ban was passed in 2010, but didn’t go into effect until the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this year overturning Roe V. Wade.
How will the residents of Kansas’ “Big First” get along with Lawrence? This is only one of many questions posted by Kansas’ new Congressional district map. The Big First is Kansas’ rural, western and central district that stretches to Colorado.
