Everett J Brook

Everett J Brook at the age of 76 passed away November 15, 2021. He was a long time resident of Peabody, Kansas. He passed away while residing at Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Kansas. Everett was born November 25, 1944 to Everett Brooks Senior and Pearl Brooks. Everett was married to Bonnie Irene Bybee for many years, she later passed away November 30, 1989.

James D. Gaeddert

James D. (Jim) Gaeddert, 83, of Mound Ridge, KS and Leawood, KS, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, after a short stay in the hospital. Jim was the son of Walter and Harriett (Knowles) Gaeddert, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Richard (Dick) Gaeddert, Allen Gaeddert and Walter Jr. (stillborn), and his high school sweetheart, and wife, Karen (Kaufman) Gaeddert. Survivors include Jim and Karen’s four children and their families; Doug (1959), Greg (1961), Brad (1966), and Janelle (1967), all of whom now mourn his passing but will remember his sense of humor, honesty, integrity, and generosity along with the unconditional love he had for them.

Loretta Carol Sauerwein

Loretta Carol Sauerwein, age 64, after a long battle with cancer, died Thursday, July 7, 2022 at her Newton residence. She was born on December 30, 1957 in Anthony, Kansas to Vlastislav and Louise (Anton) Sheen. On September 12, 2009 she married Terry Sauerwein in Newton, and he survives of the home.

Eleanor Heckendorn

Eleanor Heckendorn, born May 30, 1937, in Newton, KS, died June 8, 2022, in Eagle, Idaho. The daughter of Martha M. and the Rev. Dr. David C. Wedel, her early life revolved around music and faith. At 17, she was baptized into the Mennonite church. In 1955, she married Arnold Heckendorn, her beloved husband for 65 years. For the next 25 years, she focused on rearing four children and supporting Arnold’s career. After the last son’s college graduation, she returned to college and earned a Bachlors Degree from the University of Phoenix. She worked for the avionics division of Honeywell, representing them for clients including Boeing and Airbus. She loved traveling, especially her business trips to Europe. After her retirement, she and Arnold traveled the U.S. with their RV to see their nine grandchildren and volunteer as camp hosts at several Idaho State Parks. They lived in Sun City, AZ for 20 years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, serving on the worship and music committee at Willowbrook United Methodist Church. She played violin and was Vice President of the Sun City Community Orchestra and did silver work. In 2019, she and Arnold moved to Eagle, ID. She was predeceased by Arnold in January 2021, and is survived by her four children, Cris Vallee (Don), Deb Dillner (Doug), Steve Heckendorn (Kristen), and Frank Heckendorn, as well as her eight granddaughters and one grandson.

Joyce Dalke, 84, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Pine Village in Moundridge, Kansas. She was born May 24, 1938 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Willie and Amanda (Bartel) Voran.

Beverly Lynn Musgrove, 60, of North Newton, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022. Beverly was born on May 4, 1962 to Robert Eugene and E. Berniece (Drew) Musgrove. She grew up on the family farm outside of Rolla, Kansas.
