Steven Craig Alexander was born on May 30, 1958 in Topeka, Kansas to Ernest and Dorothy (Ferrell) Alexander. Steven passed from this life at the age of 64 on December 25, 2022 in Oklahoma. He spent his early years growing up in Topeka, Kansas but spent the majority of his life in Newton, Kansas and in 2017 moved to handed-down family property in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma. Steven enjoyed doing any project that was hands on. He was a master carpenter; no job was too hard and he could repair almost anything. Steven loved old trucks and working on the land. He was one of the hardest working, dedicated, and humble men. Nonjudgmental, devoted Christian who would give the shirt off his back and be there for anyone in need. Most importantly, he loved his family and cherished every minute he got to spend with them. Steven was truly one of a kind and one of the good ones that is gone too soon but never will be forgotten. John William Schipper, age 82, of Newton, Kansas passed away December 29, 2022 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. John was born in Archer, Iowa April 13, 1940 to the Reverend Clarence and Mabel Schipper. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. His passion was serving the community through the use of his talented singing voice. He volunteered many places leading services of praise and worship. He is survived by his wife Merriam, and their three children, Laura, John, and Lawrence. There will be a come and go visitation on January 3, 2023 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 2:00pm, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, 1051 E. 160th St. S, South Haven, KS. 67140 following the service. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan fund. Broadway Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin “Pete” Smith 93, died, December 30, 2022 at his home in Elbing, Kansas. He was married to Dorothy Hale Smith and she survives of the home.

Steven Douglas Andres was born in Oklahoma City, OK on October 5th, 1966. He was blessed to be adopted by his loving parents, Irvin & Marie and his sister Janice of Elbing, KS.

Eva Mae Andres, 91 died December 26, 2022 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born December 13, 1931 in Buhler, Kansas to John J.

Robert “Bob” Wayne Brainard, long-time Paris resident, passed away December 27, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. He was born September 23, 1943, in Newton, Kansas to Roy and Lena Brainard.

Karen Ann McCoskey, 81, Sedgwick, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2022. She was born to Lester and Viola Snyder on March 28, 1941 in Pratt, Kansas.
