County to consider disaster declaration

The Harvey County Commission will be in a position it has not been in for several months in the nearly two-year old pandemic — considering a proclamation of a state of local disaster emergency. According to Bryan Ellis, Special Projects Coordinator, last week Harvey County Emergency Management was contacted by several community partners requesting personal protective equipment and testing resources in response to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Olathe Public Schools and Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools canceled classes for Tuesday and Wednesday, the Kansas City Star reported.
