The Kansas Supreme Court affirmed the death sentences of brothers Jonathan and Reginald Carr on Friday. The two were convicted in a series of robberies, assaults and murders in Wichita more than 20 years ago.
A few years before he died, Les Walton deeded to his daughter Walton’s Recreational Park, 6025 E First St., a recreational area on eastern Harvey County he built himself. He started the park in the 1970s, digging out ponds, building recreational buildings including a bar and other structures to make a place for bike rallies and entertainment.
