Josue Coy-Dyck, Joey Menniga and Laurel Woodward-Breckbill walked into the Newton Public Library on April 21, pulled out some instruments and started making music. They played chamber music, part of the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra’s Community Chamber Music Series.
“It used to be that the pool was the fun job, the job, for the summer,” said Brian Bascue, superintendent of the Newton Recreation Commission. But not anymore.
Newton residents who are currently recycling will receive a very important letter in the main shortly - but not only from the city of Newton. That letter will be coming from Nisly Brothers Trash Services, and it will offer residents the opportunity to continue curbside recycling services.

Fire/EMS Chief Steve Roberson recently earned honors from the city of Newton this week as he completed something few ever attempt. Roberson completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
The Augsta Municipal Airport is in line to recieve more than $159,000 in federal funds from the bipartisan infrastructure law passed earlier this year. It’s a fund that was highlighted by FAA Deputy Administrator Bradley Mims as he visited the airport this week.
