Newton Community for Racial Justice (NCRJ) will hold its final webinar in a series of three on diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. “This is an excellent opportunity to discover tips and information on how to bring inclusion and diversity to your workplace,” said Brian Lee, a member of NCRJ’s Business and Employment Committee, which has planned and coordinated the webinar series.

Bethel hosts music progressions

Area students participated in the District 6—Kansas Music Teachers Association Music Progressions at Bethel College, N. Newton, KS, April 23, 2022. This annual test provides a musical event evaluating the progressive growth of all students—those studying music as a hobby or those wishing to be professional musicians. In addition to performing on the piano, each student is tested in areas of listening, keyboard theory and written theory.

NHS students compete in national business contest

Anahi and Natalie Sanchez of Newton High School were named as finalists for the National “Gear Up” business contest. Their winning business idea is “The Seedman.” During the April 23 virtual competition the twin sisters were able to present The Seedman before a review panel of five judges, answering questions about the business model, growth potential, and finance ideas.
