Bethel students do theater with inmates at Hutch Correctional Facility

An unusual theater performance is looking for an audience, as Bethel College’s Prison Theater Project returns as a summer term course. Two students, under the direction of John McCabe-Juhnke, professor emeritus of communication arts, are collaborating with seven inmates at Hutchinson Correctional Facility’s medium-security East Unit for a performance titled Inside Story.

Teens learn crafts at NPL

Can one upcycle a plastic bottle to create a piece of art? Yep, and teens learned how to create a “diving squid” art piece from plastic bottles at Newton Public Library this week. The Teen GameZone & Crafts on June 20 was focused on a project to use plastic water bottles to make art.
