Kansas recount confirms results in favor of abortion rights
By HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH and JOHN HANNA OLATHE (AP) — A decisive statewide vote in favor of abortion rights in traditionally conservative Kansas was confirmed with a partial hand recount, with fewer than 100 votes changing after the last county reported results Sunday. Nine of the state’s 105 counties recounted their votes at the request of Melissa Leavitt, who has pushed for tighter election laws.

K-15 work stalls, expected to restart Aug. 31
About a month ago millling of the center lanes of K-15/Main Street between U.S. 50 and Fourth Street began. Cones and traffic control wnet up, forcing all traffic into the two outside lanes of the road. The work was visible, and then, it was not. The contractor for the job, Cornejo and Sons, has run into a shortage that slowed the work.
