A barber with a mission

There are clues to how different a new barbershop at 202 E. Fifth is everywhere, though at the moment not how different of a business the place will be become. For starters, there’s the name on the window: Cuts for Christ. That’s more than a name, it’s a mission statement. Walk into the shop, and one of the first things seen is a blackboard wall - with the beginnings of being filled with Bible verses and memories from customers who frequent the shop that hosted a ribbon cutting this week. “That is for people who come in here, to write a favourite Bible verse,” said Cody Broadhurst, founder of Cuts for Christ.

Devotional: God’s beauty and wisdom shines through creation

Whitewater Mayor Brady Gragg said the city was looking for about $14,000 in revenue, for a community of just more than 660 residents. Using a combination of increased property evaluation and mill levy increases, the city budgeted more expenditures.
