Doug Trumble is combining some of his passions to start his own business in retirement. He worked as an agribusiness personnel recruiter for more than 21 years, retiring from that gig in January.

Recently, while visiting from out of state, my father had a “health hiccup.” As we navigated getting this problem investigated and addressed, he was very concerned that we keep his primary care doctor informed. As my dad has said repeatedly, “I give him more grief than any of my other doctors, but I also listen to him more than any of my other doctors. He’s the only one looking out for all of me!”

KYLE, Texas — The hallways of Lehman High School looked like any other on a recent fall day. Its 2,100 students talked and laughed as they hurried to their next classes, moving past walls covered with flyers that advertised homecoming events, clubs, and football games. Next to those flyers, though, were posters with a grim message warning students that fentanyl is extremely deadly.

The next few weeks will be some of the most intense of the year at the Salvation Army office on East Sixth Street in Newton. The Christmas season is coming, one of the fullest times of year.
