The year of 2022, a sesquicentennial year for the city of Newton, has been a big year for Newton Murals and Art. Three murals were completed this year - the latest is “The Ice House Mural” which is on the back of a building facing the Newton Train Station and Newton City Hall.

City seeking members for revamped Law Enforcement Advisory Panel

The City of Newton is taking applications for at large members of the revamped Law Enforcement Advisory Panel, a volunteer advisory board that was reconstituted earlier this year. The volunteer advisory board’s purpose is to advise in policy development, education, community outreach, and communications related to bias-based policing by law enforcement officers and agencies of the City; and to receive, review, and provide feedback to the Chief of Police on complaints related to bias-based law enforcement actions.
