TOPEKA — U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas endorsed legislation repealing a new federal formula for determining student financial aid that could lower college assistance to children of parents operating small businesses or family farms.

Keystone operator says design and construction flaws led to the Kansas oil spill
Stress put on the Keystone pipeline during construction, its operator said Friday, contributed significantly to it bursting in north-central Kansas. TC Energy says an independent review shows the sequence of factors that led to the Keystone’s rupture in December that fouled a creek and spewed oil over cropland and prairie.

Prairie View to open one of first emergency units in state
Prairie View will be creating a urgent care unit for mental health on its Newton campus - one of the first units of its kind in the state. “This program will meet the needs of individuals who may be detained in jail or housed in the local Emergency Department who would more appropriately benefit from mental health services,” says Marcy Johnson, Prairie View President and CEO.
