Hesston College engineering forges new partnership

Hesston – It proved to be a perfect match – the engineering departments of two Mennonite Colleges combining to improve an advanced flip board design.Even if those colleges are nearly 1,200 miles apart.The Hesston College School of Engineering recently collaborated on a project with the engineering department at Eastern Mennonite University of Harrisonburg, Virginia.“Eastern Mennonite University and Hesston College have a long history of collaboration in various areas,” said Johann Reimer, Hesston College program director.

USD 373 adding course for electrical certification

The Newton USD 373 Board of Education got a first look at the course book listing for a new class at Newton High School, one that founds a new “pathway” within the career and technical education programs at the school.A partnership between Newton USD 373, Hutchinson Community College and Kansas Electric is creating an electrical pathway – elective classes that could allow students to earn a certification for students upon graduation.“The partnership that we have there is just pretty darn cool,” said Sheila Wendling, assistant superintendent of curriculum for Newton USD 373.
