Looking for a way to grow your own culinary mushrooms? The Harvey County K-State Research & Extension Office wil be offering a Hands-On Mushroom Growing Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon March 25 at the Harvey County 4-H building (800 West First) in Newton.
You don’t need a lot of space or a big budget to grow and enjoy garden-fresh bouquets. Just fill a few vacant spaces, add an extra row in garden beds or fill a container with easy care flowers started from seeds.
All are welcome to join the 14th annual Mennonite Central Committee Comforter Blitz on March 7,8,and 9 at Journey Mennonite Church at the Yoder Campus, one mile north of Yoder, Kansas. Blitz times are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 7 and 8, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9.
Pandemic and staffing changes led to a pause on story times at Newton Public Library, but the program is set to return. The library announced recently that an eight-week spring StoryTime for young children, and their care givers, will start back up March.
