The work now on display in Bethel College’s Regier Art Gallery represents what is very likely a new genre. Glen Ediger’s exhibit “Environmental Exposure” opened in the gallery Sept. 30. The artist reception will be Oct. 7 as part of Bethel’s Fall Festival. Reception hours are 6-8 p.m. at the gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center, and there will be extended gallery hours during the day Saturday, Oct. 8. Regular hours are Mon.Fri., 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 p.m.

The annual Newton High School Prom will be in a new location this year, the second time in as many years the prom has moved out of the school gymnasium to another location. Prom will be April 9 at Wild Prairie Event Center, 1610 SE Third, Newton.
Newton native Aaron Linscheid, a trumpeter who now lives and performs in the Kansas City area, will return home for a couple days of teaching, coaching and playing at Bethel College. An NHS and Bethel graduate, Linscheid played with jazz groups at both schools.
