A farmer working in his field found human remains in the 3000 block of South Hillside Road (south east of Newton) at about noon Oct. 1.

The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office is launched an investigation. The identity of the deceased and cause of death have not yet been determined. The Harvey County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the investigation.

Investigation is ongoing.
