BNSF announces Broadway crossing closure

The BNSF will close the Broadway rail crossing for a project similar to one in August at K-15/Main Street in Newton .[Chad Frey/Newton Kansan]

The BNSF Railway crossing on East Broadway is scheduled to close for repairs next week.

The crossing is expected to be closed from 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Walnut Street will remain open to traffic.

Detour routes will be posted. Drivers should allow extra time for their alternate route.
