The final “Beat the Heat Barrel Serieis” barrel racing event of the summer season was hosted this week in the Newton Saddle Club Arena on west First Street in Newton.

The summer series provided barrel racers a chance to compete throughout the 2024 summer.

For the final event, 78 racers competed.

The top money earner of the night was Danielle Paulsen, who won the 1D open category with a time of 15.89 seconds to take home $319. She had finished second in the series twice this summer.
