Top seed Kansas opens 50th NCAA with 83-56 win over TSU

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Top-seeded Kansas opened its 50th NCAA Tournament the way it has so many times in the past, with a lopsided victory. Remy Martin had 15 points and Christian Braun 14 to pace five Jayhawks scoring in double figures in an 83-56 victory over Texas Southern on Thursday night.

‘Ominous’ road project begins

A project to rebuild, resurface and expand Hesston Road began March 14, with a portion of the road just east of Newton closed for crews to being milling asphalt and cutting concrete. “The road will not be closed from end to end for the duration,” said Jim Meier, superintendent of the Harvey County Road and Bridge Department.
