NASAL IRRIGATION MAY HELP, WON’T HURT WITH COVID-19

Dear Doctors: My doctor suggested I start using a nasal irrigation system to reduce buildup of pollens that trigger allergic reactions. Could this also mitigate the risk of getting sick with COVID-19 by removing some virus particles before they are activated? Or maybe keep infection less severe?

Stanley Willis Jantz, 80, died March 22, 2022, at his home in Hoisington. He was born September 1941, in Newton, Kansas, the son of Charles and Lila (Hays) Jantz. Stanley graduated from Newton High School in 1959. He married Lana Sue Brooks on May 26, 1963 in Scott City, Kansas. They later divorced.

We’ve had two work nights for the youth who helped clear out the shop and mulch flower beds and around our pine trees. The church ladies came to help wash walls and windows. Daniel has been putting in new flooring to replace our old chipped one, and the list goes on.

VALLEY CENTER – The Newton High School softball team won a nail-biter and won one going away Saturday in the thirdplace doubleheader against Campus at the Valley Center Invitational. The Railers won the first game 3-2 in eight innings and the second game 15-4 in six innings on the 10-run rule.

Newton baseball squad finishes tourney with win

VALLEY CENTER – Three games in the early season for the Newton High School baseball team and all three were decided by one run. Ryan Ruggerio hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth and the Railers held off a bases-loaded threat in the bottom of the sixth for a 3-2 win over Wichita Heights Saturday in the fifth-place game of the Valley Center Invitational.
