StoryTime returns to NPL

It had been around two years since the laughter and squeals of delight had been heard in the children’s area of Newton Public Library during a StoryTime. The pandemic put a halt to story times in the building.

Railer netters third at Valley Center

VALLEY CENTER – The Newton High School boys’ tennis team opened the season by splitting its squad and competing in two tournaments. Newton finished third out of six teams Tuesday and Wednesday at the Valley Center Invitational.

Kansas failed abuse survivors

Hello my name is Kim Bergman and I am a survivor of child sexual abuse. SCR 1624 was introduced on March 28, 2022 by KS Senator Tom Holland. SCR 1624 would amend the constitution of the state of Kansas to require that certain individuals, including members of the clergy, be mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. Senator Holland, along with abuse survivors and family, will be holding a press conference on Thursday March 31st at 1:00 PM at the Kansas State Capitol Building in Topeka, KS in support of SCR 1624.
