Spring has sprung

While the first official day of Spring is March 22, this year it took a few weeks for spring to begin to truly show. Kansan photographer Michele Clarke found signs of spring around Newton last week, from trees beginning to finaly leaf out and tulips displaying their spring colors.

Nebraska-Kearney wins MIAA women’s title

The University of Nebraska-Kearney women’s golf team claimed the title of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships held Thursday through Saturday at Sand Creek Station. The Lopers posted the low team rounds of 304 and 310 for the first two days of competition.

Anti-trans legislation in Kansas hurts LGBTQ+ youths

Kansas is one of a handful of states that have introduced anti-LGBTQ+ bills this year specifically targeting transgender women. There have been various anti-trans bills (HB2210, SB214, SB208 and SB484) introduced in the GOP-controlled Kansas State Legislature this session.

The news is so full of political correctness that we can’t distinguish between hope and how things really are.
