Dear Doctors: I switched to a new doctor, and she wants me to get a bunch of blood tests. One is a blood test called an A1C. She says it’s for diabetes, but I already know I’m not diabetic. I don’t need insulin, and sugar doesn’t bother me. Are all of these tests really necessary?

Martha Krueger, 93, died May 6, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 11, 1928, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of John and Cecelia (Newbold) Stamm.

HESSTON – The Hesston Swather golf team claimed the Central Kansas League title by 17 strokes Tuesday at the Hesston Golf Course. The Swathers topped Pratt 332-349 for the team title.
Bethel College named Luka Milicevic as its new men’s soccer coach, succeeding James Cottage, who resigned this spring after four seasons with the team. Milicevic is a firsttime college head coach.
The Newton High School boys’ golf team finished the regular season with a medalist and a sixth-place team finish Tuesday at the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I Championships at Sand Creek Station.
