Goessel wins WSL golf title

SALINA – The Wheat State League and Heart of the Plains League hosted their joint golf championships Monday at the GreatLife Golf Course in Salina. The Goessel Bluebirds topped the WSL standings with a 379, followed by Solomon at 384 and Herington at 426.

Martha Krueger, 93, died May 6, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 11, 1928, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of John and Cecelia (Newbold) Stamm.

LEONARD STEIDER

Leonard Steider was born to Lee and Emma Steider on Valentine’s Day of 1938 at home on the family farm in Nebraska. He reached his journey’s end on this earth on May 8, 2022 and God called him on to a greater life.

Railer golfers take sixth at league

The Newton High School boys’ golf team finished the regular season with a medalist and a sixth-place team finish Tuesday at the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I Championships at Sand Creek Station.
