Clay Center, Kansas – What if Jesus’ resurrection never happened? What if He died on the cross, but Sunday never came and He remained dead? I have been going to church and hearing about Jesus’ resurrection since I was three. Religious people like me can hear about it so often, that we are in danger of losing the significance of it, where it is no longer meaningful.

Woman wants Kansas library to get rid of children’s book about boy who dresses in mom’s clothes

TOPEKA — An Oakley woman wants to ban a children’s book from the public library because it contains drawings of a naked boy who gets dressed in his mother’s clothes. The Oakley Public Library Board of Trustees could decide later this month whether to get rid of “Fred Gets Dressed,” by New York Times bestselling author Peter Brown, after the woman filed a formal complaint regarding the book’s content.

Kathleen Neff, 65, of North Newton, Kan., died May 11, 2022. She was born Aug. 5, 1956, to Clifford and Elizabeth (Bartel) Bitikofer of Hesston. They attended Whitestone Mennonite Church. It was there she was baptized in 1970. During high school she developed an interest in world hunger issues and how our lifestyle choices affect people in developing countries. This led her to become a longtime member of Bread for the World. She took international trips to learn and experience other cultures. She graduated from Hesston College in 1976.
